Meet Linc Chafee

•    Lives in Warwick with wife Stephanie, and their children Louisa, Caleb and Thea
•    Born in Providence in 1953, and grew up in Warwick
•    His father, John Chafee, was the late United States Senator, Secretary of the Navy, and Governor of Rhode Island, and his mother is Virginia Coates Chafee, an early environmentalist old_family.jpg
•    Graduate of Brown University, with a degree in Classics, received the Francis M. Driscoll Award for leadership, scholarship and athletics
•    1976 to 1983: worked as a blacksmith at harness racetracks in Kentucky, Florida, and Alberta, Canada
•    Elected Rhode Island Constitutional Convention delegate in 1985.
•    1986 to 1990 worked as a manufacturing planner at Electric Boat, Quonset
•    Elected to two terms on the Warwick City Council (1986-90)
•    Elected Mayor of Warwick (1992)
•    Reelected Mayor of Warwick in 1994, 1996 and 1998
•    Appointed to the U.S. Senate in 1999
•    Elected to the U.S. Senate in 2000. Served on the Foreign Relations Committee, Banking Committee and the Environment and Public Works Committee
•    Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Brown University's Watson Institute for International Studies 2007-2009
•    Author of Against The Tide, How a Compliant Congress Empowered A Reckless President (2008)

Meet Stephanie Chafee

•    Rhode Island native
•    Has earned a B.S. in Nursing from Boston University; MBA from the University of Connecticut and an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from the University of Rhode Island
•    Stephanie is a Registered Nurse, one of the first in Rhode Island to work exclusively with HIV/AIDS patients
•    Helped found the Rhode Island Free Clinic in South Providence, which provides  healthcare for people who are uninsured
•    Co-founder of Women Ending Hunger
•    Community health care advocate for all Rhode Islanders, particularly the less fortunate
•    Served on advisory boards for Miriam Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital, the Rhode Island Zoological Society and the Rhode Island Foundation
